Children's Ministries

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord" - Psalm 127:3a (ESV)

Children are a gift from God. Parents have been granted children to train them to worship God and to glorify Him with their lives. We at Harvest Baptist Church are committed to helping parents accomplish this by teaching children lessons from the Bible and encouraging them to memorize Bible verses. The mission of our Sunday School and Children's Service is to teach young people about God, His love toward mankind, and the good news of salvation from sins through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

"Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." Mark 10:14 (ESV)

Jail Ministries

We have experienced time and again that the inmates God gives us to minister to come to the understanding that their attendance to the Bible studies were by divine providence. As we teach from the Bible that, in spite of man's bondage to sin, and man-made religions there is freedom through Christ and him only. The mission of our Jail ministry is to teach the Good news that Jesus Christ died for sinful men and rose again for our justification. We continually encourage them to repent of their sins and follow Jesus Christ and what He commanded. God has given us a great opportunity in the Marathon County Jail system and He has greatly blessed this ministry to the praise of His glory and grace.

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me." - Matthew 25:35-36 (ESV)

Nursing Home Ministry

Our culture doesn't allow for any hindrances or burdens, and life's demands would at times seem ready to break us, but on the sidelines of life their are a people who suffer, are lonely, filled with the years of life gone by who need the knowledge of the message of salvation with all the peace, forgiveness, and rest that comes with it. We desire to instruct the residents from the Bible that God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for their sins. No matter how much we have sinned in our life, God's grace can cleanse our hearts and give us new life. We encourage, edify and pray for the residents, striving to love them as Christ loved us.

"The needy shall not always be forgotten, and the hope of the poor shall not perish forever." - Psalm 9:18 (ESV)

Widow Bread Drop-off Ministry

In the early church, one of the main concerns the elders had was that the believing widows were being fed and taken care of. It was such a focus that a whole new office of ministers called deacons where chosen to meet these needs so that the Christian church would not be blamed. We want to be used in whatever way God leads us to assure this emphasis continues by collecting bread from a local grocery every first Friday of the month and distributing it to our widows and elderly.

"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction..." - James 1:27b (ESV)
